Team Covenant

While serving on a L.O.G. Team …

1       I will strive to live a lifestyle that is pleasing to God – in and outside of L.O.G.

  • Love God with all your heart and soul and mind and strength   (Matthew 22:37)
  • Live life with integrity, respect and compassion
  • Maintain appropriate emotional and physical relationships
  • Refrain from sexual activity and the use of profane language, tobacco, alcohol and illegal drugs
  • Lead a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called   (Ephesians 4:1)

2       I will strive to be a faithful member of the LOG team and LOG community

  • Love your neighbor as yourself   (Matthew 22:39)
  • Affirm the things we hold in common and set aside the things that separate us
  • Respect and support the CoLeaders and adult leaders
  • Be aware of how your life outside of LOG affects public perception of LOG and MYM

a.     I will make LOG one of the priorities in my life

  1. Attend the team meeting each week
  2. If you miss two (without being “excused”) it may result in being asked to reevaluate your commitment to the Team
  3. Call or text CoLeaders / Terry if you will miss a meeting – please do not post to Facebook group

  1. I will come to meetings on time – stay the whole time

    1. We need your participation in fellowship, project work, devotions, team bonding
    2. Because there are so many of us, it’s tempting to think you won’t be missed … WRONG!
    3. You will be a part of a small devotional group and a work project team
    4. Strive to break free of cliques and get to know everyone on Team

c.     I will be supportive of whoever is leading – listen when someone is speaking

  1. Even whispering can be distracting when there are so many of us

  1. I will attend the Team overnight
    1. Ask for time off work NOW – inform parents, coaches etc NOW
    2. You are expected to stay the whole time

  1. I will prepare palanca to give to participants (giving palanca to Team is optional)
    1. You may work w/ someone else – no more than two together
    2. Try to write personal notes to participants
    3. Look for ways to communicate a spiritual / Scriptural message
    4. Ask your Spirit Leader if you need palanca ideas and suggestions

f.      During the L.O.G. weekend – I will stay the whole time unless excused by a CoLeader

  1. If you serve as a table leader, you may not leave for any reason

g.     I will help make it possible for the L.O.G. program to exist now and in the future

  1. Pay the Team fee
  2. Bring one 12 pack of pop, juice or water to share at Team meetings
  3. Sign up to bring snacks to at least one Team meeting as well as to the L.O.G. weekend
  4. Help with fundraising efforts as you are able
  5. Encourage your family to support Michiana Youth Ministries in whatever ways they can
