Be Still and Know …
Psalm 46:10 encourages us to “Be still and know that I am God.”
The LOG / SOS 2017 team accepted the responsibility for setting up and facilitating the prayer chapel at this year’s SOS student weekend.
We set it up in the Shiloh Prayer Chapel on Bethel’s campus and it was open all weekend-long. There were seven stations where SOS’ers could spend some quiet time with God. You can see photos of some of the stations on the PHOTO PAGE.
You could even write “thanksgivings” “heart cries” and “words of inspiration” on the windows!
As people left, they were invited to leave a prayer request in large glass bowl and our team came in at the end of the day and prayed for each request. There were about 25 papers in the bowl each day.
Special thanks to Ashley, Theresa and Jake for the time spent creating the stations and getting everything ready!
I encourage you to make some time for God before the summer is over by attending The Next Step: L•4•G which will be held at the Firehouse Campus of Clay Church in just a little over one week: July 28-30.
This will be our twentieth L•4•G weekend where we focus on growing closer to God and growing to be more like Jesus.
Saturday’s focus will be on prayer and will be led by “McKevor”, Trevor and McKenna (Rice) Killion, who were both adult leaders for LOG #91. They will lead us in some teaching time and some vertical time to help us grow in our love for God.
Sunday’s focus will be on servant leadership and will be led by Katie Mulligan, a long-time friend of Terry’s from California, who started the LOG program in Trenton, New Jersey. She will focus on how to discern God’s call on our life and then follow that call into leadership in our home, community and world.
L•4•G is open to current LOGgers and LOG alums. The cost to participate is $50.00. Registration is now open at http://www.michianayouth.org/events.
Save this date: Sunday, August 13
First: LOG is invited to Evangel Heights United Methodist Church in the morning when all the youth and adults from Bashor Home will attend worship at the church. Terry will lead worship that morning and then LOGgers are welcome to share lunch with the folks from Bashor.
Then: Don’t miss our annual Capture the Flag game up at Seth Proctor’s parents’ home in Niles, MI. We play in a huge field and then make S’mores around a campfire.
Both events are open to current LOGgers and alumni.
You can see some NEW photos from LOG #92 and SOS 2017 on our Photo Page.
